The Modelo 210, explained
What the Modelo 210 is and why non-resident owners file it.
The Modelo 210 is the Spanish tax return non-residents use to declare income connected to property they own in Spain. If you live outside Spain and own a home there, it is the form that reports that income to the Spanish tax agency (the Agencia Tributaria).
There are two common situations. If you keep the property for your own use, Spain treats it as a small amount of deemed income based on the property's rateable value (the valor catastral on your IBI receipt). If you rent it out, you declare the rent you receive.
For a property kept for your own use, the return covers a full calendar year and is filed by 31 December of the following year. A licensed Spanish gestor prepares and files it for you, so you never fill in a Spanish form yourself.
